Home The inaugural Darlene Clark Hine Award will be given in 2010 for the best book in African American women's and gender history. The award is named for Darlene Clark Hine, a pioneer in African American women's and gender history and past president of the Organization of American Historians.

Each entry must be published during the two-year period January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009. One copy of each entry must be received by each committee member by October 1, 2009.
