9) I am a member who fears for my safety in a large city. Isn't the OAH threatening the security of its members by having the meeting outside of a safe hotel?

FBI statistics show that, as in many American cities, the violent crime rate in St. Louis has declined over the past few years. Like past annual meetings (Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C.), OAH members should always use caution whenever venturing out on their own. In addition, shuttle buses will be provided for members to travel from the downtown hotels to the Saint Louis University campus.
