New Tours Added!
We are pleased to announce the addition of two new tours during the 2001 Annual Meeting.
Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation--Friday, 27 April, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Founded by Steven Spielberg in 1994 to videotape the testimonies of survivors and other witnesses of the Holocaust, Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation has gathered thousands of testimonies throughout the world. In the fall of 2000, OAH Executive Board member Douglas Greenberg joined the Foundation as its President and CEO. The tour of the Shoah Foundation will be conducted by staff members or docents and will take approximately 2 hours. Woven into the tour is a cataloguing demonstration, an informational video, an end-user demonstration, an introduction to the educational products produced by the foundation, and an overview of its cutting edge technology.
El Pueblo Historical Monument--Saturday, 28 April,
11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument is the oldest section of Los Angeles. The historic buildings clustered around an old plaza and the colorful Mexican marketplace on Olvera Street all have exciting stories to tell about the people of different ethnic groups who settled here. A tour of the monument will begin at 11:00 a.m. Please register for the tour by Friday morning, 27 April, at the OAH convention registration Tickets counter.
