Lodging on the Iowa State Campus

We in the Department of Residence at Iowa State University would like to extend an invitation to you to stay and dine with us while you attend the Organization of American Historians Midwestern Regional Conference.

Accommodations for conference participants are available in the Maple-Willow-Larch Residence Halls at Iowa State University. These halls are located on the southeast corner of the campus and are directly across from the Iowa State Center. Ample free parking for guests is available adjacent to the residence halls.

Maple Hall rooms were renovated and refurbished in the summer of 1999. Rooms are air-conditioned and are furnished with twin (single) beds, desks, chairs, chest of drawers, and spacious closets. Each room has a sink. Individual bathrooms and individual shower rooms providing complete privacy in clean surroundings are conveniently located in the center area of each floor. Each room has a telephone which can be used for making local, calling card, or collect calls out. Elevator access is available in this high-rise residence hall. Rates are:

Single occupancy $29.25 per night
Double occupancy $21.50 per person per night

Your room will be furnished with sheets, pillow, pillowcase, two towels, one washcloth, and soap. Your bed will be made upon your arrival and you will receive a fresh washcloth and towels daily.

If you decide to stay in our residence halls, you should be aware of the following regulations. Smoking is not allowed in the buildings and alcohol is not permitted. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not allowed. For safety reasons, screens may not be removed from windows. Food and beverages may not be removed from the dining halls. The charge for lost keys is $40.00.

The Department of Residence Dining Service has a convenient and attractive dining room within the residence hall complex. Meal plans may be reserved even if you choose not to live in the residence halls. Meal plans may be reserved for $13.25 each that include breakfast on Friday through Sunday, 4-6 August, 2000.

Additional individual meals are available on a per meal basis by paying cash in the serving lines in the Dining Room when they are open. Individual adult rates are:

Breakfast $4.75
Lunch $5.75
Dinner $6.75

You may obtain duplicate forms and additional information by calling the Conference Services Office at 515-294-8384. Mail or fax your completed reservation form before Wednesday, 19 July, 2000 directly to:
